(Disclaimer: I don't eat my breakfast outside on the porch, I just had the photos taken out there because the lighting in our kitchen is not as good for photos).
Another good thing about eating Just Right dog food is that it is tailored for my nutritional needs and preferences, so that I can enjoy every bite and mom is satisfied and content of what goes into my little body.
First things first, mom made me sit next to the bowl, which was the first trick I learned when I was just six weeks old! (Of course I got rewarded with a piece of my Scooby's Blend). Teaching your pooch how to sit is very simple, all you do is hold a piece of food in front of their nose, slowly move your hand up, and their head will follow the treat, making their behind go down, and move into a sit position! We then did this a couple more times and added the cue "sit".
Next, we practice our lay down. This trick is important because when it is time to get brushed, Mom tells me to get in this position, because it is the easiest to be able to brush my whole body. This was my second trick I learned as a little puppy, only just a couple of days after I learned how to sit. All you do is once your dog is in the sit position, this time you slowly move the piece of dog food in your hand down to the ground, and their body will lower into the lay down position. In the photo above, you can see where Mom's hand ends up on the ground after I moved into the lay down position.
I also can do other tricks such as shake, high five, play dead, and sit pretty, but we usually break up a couple tricks for each morning. When it is time for me to finally eat, mom pours my food into the bowl after measuring it in our measuring cup (Fun Fact: on each bag of your very own personalized blend, it tells you your recommended daily feeding amount and how many calories it contains. My recommended daily feeding around is 1 and 1/4 cups, which is 671 calories). She then uses the cue "wait" by holding her hand up so I do not get over exciting or show any food aggressive traits, until she has moved away from the bowl. She then puts down her hand and uses the cue, "okay, get it", and I can then dig in!
Breakfast time is without a doubt my favorite part of my morning routine! I also wanted to share how shiny and soft my coat has been looking, all credit goes to my personalized Scooby's blend by Just Right dog food!
